Earlier this year, CANBE’s Board of Directors initiated discussion about a strategic alliance with the Greater Kansas City Council on Philanthropy in an effort to maximize the resources available to our constituents. The two organizations have a history of collaboration, via partnership on the Philanthropy Midwest Conference. The creation of an Affinity Group for Administration/Finance within the Council on Philanthropy will strengthen the services available to individuals who seek professional development and networking opportunities in these fields.
Through this alliance, any member of CANBE automatically will become a member of the Council on Philanthropy effective Jan. 1, 2008. (The date of your CANBE membership expiration will be the date of your Council membership expiration. If you are a member of both organizations, the latest expiration date of the two will apply.) As a result of this alignment, additional offerings will be available to CANBE members such as the opportunity to attend all Council programs at the member rate including: nearly 40 Council Seminars and the Business Brain Food sessions which are presented in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, members will have 24/7 access to the Online Foundation Directory which features a database of 800 local and national funders and access to other dynamic online resources available at www.kcphilnet.org. Members will also receive the Voice of Philanthropy twice a year and monthly eUpdates.
We thank you for your past support of CANBE and encourage your continued participation through the Council on Philanthropy.
